Well this week has been good, I got sick last week, everyone here has the flu or something and we were always talking about how it is amazing that we haven't gotten sick ye. Well I got really sick all day last Wednesday. My whole body hurt but we still worked. Thursday I felt sick to my stomach so we called the member that was supposed to give us lunch and she gave it to us in a tupperware thing so we could eat in the house, and well that was the last thing I ate until Saturday at night! Then Friday I was really sick but luckily we have planning Fridays so we are in the house from 3-6 and then Saturday I woke up and starting throwing up, but I hadn't eaten anything Friday so there was nothing to throw up. I was very worried because we had a baptism that night, so we stayed in Saturday in the morning until about 4 in the afternoon and then we left to go to the church to get things ready for the baptism! I was so miserable!! Sunday I was feeling a lot better, Saturday night my comp made me eat some toast and a banana because she was worried about how I wasn't eating, Sunday we ate in the apt and I was able to eat and we went and worked, I've been getting better a little each day, today I finally feel like I'm probably 95% better! I still feel a little weak, but wow I thought I was going to die! But don't worry about me, I'm all better now, and I have a good comp that was taking care of me the whole time!

Let's see, so yes I had a baptism this Saturday, Emiliano was baptized. He is 11 years old and
such a good kid! He was so excited he couldn't eat lunch that day! We didn't have many people in the baptism, and the members that did go were all furious with us because it was Saturday and not Sunday, but they are just going to have to get used to it. The Spirit wasn't very strong, but luckily Emiliano was just so excited he didnt realize at all!!

That's really all that happened this week, I got sick and we had a baptism, I have a lot of fotos to send home, so I will do that, but its kind of boring here again! We might be having a baptism this Sat but we have to wait and see! I hope so because my comp would love to have one last baptism before she goes home, because oh yeah before I forget, this week we have transfers!! SO next week my p-day will be on Tuesday, so don't write me Tuesday in the night, I won't get it!!! This next time you all hear from me I will have a new comp! I have no idea who it could be because according to our mission president there aren't any new missionaries coming in this transfer, and so I wont be training that is for sure, and I don't know if I will become senior comp or if I will stay junior comp. I just hope for a good fun obedient comp!! I also hope that if I stay junior comp that my comp won't be going home with me, I do not like killing a comp, because they are sooooooo trunky and it makes me a little trunky!!

Welp I'm gonna run, sorry this letter is so lame!

Love ya

OK these are all from the baptism (remember this day I was dying!). The guy that baptized Emiliano is our old bishop, his family has kind of adopted Emiliano at church! The one with Emiliano and a guy alone that guy is our bishop now, and the other guy with dark hair is our mission leader! Enjoy!

OK so the first pic is of my district now, but there will prob be a lot of changes this transfer!! All my fav elders are prob leaving, which makes me sad! And then the second one is where we eat lunch every Monday, from left to right it is Vera, me, Marta and the 2 kids in front are Barbara and Christian. Christian is Marta's son and Barbara is Vera's granddaughter! Vera is from Brazil, and Marta is from Bolivia, Marta works for Vera, and eats with us too! Vera cooks SOOOOOO GOOD!! I love Mondays! Also the pic of me and Barbara, well we are pretty much really good friends!! She speaks a mixture of Portuguese and Spanish, its hard to understand sometimes! And then the last foto is of me and my comp with the mom of Barbara, her name is Adriana, and I don't understand ANYTHING that she says, I think she is always speaking Portuguese, but she is very sweet!!

Welp hope you like the fotos!!

Welp this week I have had a lot of funny and spiritual experiences here in liniers, but unfortunately I don't have much time to write about them all and I have prob forgotten a lot! Welp as far as funny, 2 things... Yesterday we were talking to our investigator Mayra, and she was telling us about how she always seems to run into missionaries of other religions now, and she was like why would that be, and kind of joking kind of serious she said its probably because Im doing something bad! And my comp, well she has a little problem, sometimes she tries so hard to look and act like she is listening she doesn even hear what they say, and she says yeah probably!! I was like um... and quickly said no no it isnt that and tried to explain and then my comp realized what she had said!! It was so funny to me, because she tries so hard to listen that she doesn't hear!! Sometimes I wonder how Spanish is her first language!!
Then the other really funny thing is while we were waiting for district meeting to start the other hermanas in our district were telling us that one of their investigators who is a taxi driver gave them a ride to the meeting, as we said that we saw him walk by the church looking at it, we started laughing that he was going to stay and wait, well the elders who live in that area saw him and thought hey someone is interested in the church, and went outside to do a contact, not realizing that this guy is already and investigator who has gone to church 3 times and we be getting baptized in the next few weeks! They went out there are talked to him for a little bit and we were dying of laughter, well they came in and introduced us to him and the hermanas tried to make it obvious that they already knew him, but the elders didn't even realize! They went to show him more of the church and we all went to start the meeting, we were laughing so hard, about 5 min later the elders came in and were like thanks hermana ladd... and she died laughing, she almost fell on the floor laughing so hard, and we were like when did you realize he was already an investigator? Haha Jorge, didn't say anything until the end of the tour so the elders did a really good long contact with a guy that already knows... we laughed about it the whole meeting!!
I'm sure this is probably one of the things that was only funny if you were there, but trust me I haven't laughed so hard in a LONG time!!!

Well as far as spiritual, we were able to have 3 investigators in the church this week even though it was stake conference and it was far away, the sad thing is Mayra didn't go, we talked to her sat night and she was all excited and said she would go, Sunday morning when we went by to pick her up her mom told us she went out dancing and hadn't gotten home yet!! We were really disappointed but there was nothing we could do then! This means she cant be baptized on the 27th like planned, but her best friend came with us and another lady, so they will still be able to be baptized on the 27th! So yesterday we went by mayras house to see what happened, she told us her cousin is in the hospital because she is pregnant and cant feel the baby move, and they are trying to figure out what is going on, and then she started crying and told us she felt really really bad for not going to the church, and how sunday morning is when all these things happened with her cousin, and she felt bad that she cant be baptized on teh 27th, and she cried a lot! We told her that it was ok, that she could still be baptized but just has to wait a week, and we explained that it was good for her to feel a little bad but now its all over and everything is ok but she said she still feels really bad! i hope this feeling will help give her a bit more motivation for going to church on Sundays!! She is amazing, she has read almost all of the Book of Mormon, and she gave a Book of Mormon to her cousin who is in the hospital and told her to read it because it will give her peace, and her cousin is reading it and telling her she likes it a lot! Too bad her cousin doesn't live in our area!! Pray for Mayra and her cousin that everything will work out!
Also lets see, oh yeah we went by to see an investigator named hans, and he told us he went with his whole family to the house of a member to watch the movie the testaments and how he really liked it and his family seemed interested, how many people are in his family.. 2, 3 NO TEN PERSONS!!! So yeah we are pretty excited about teaching them!!
Another investigator, well his name is javier, I have only met him twice but when I got here hna perez and I tried finding him like everyday because he had a baptism date, but we didn't know where he lived, one day we did a contact with a woman in the street and it just so happens that she lives in the same place as Javier, so we went by to see him, but he works in a place where he cant leave without permission (its like slavery but not) and so we always tried to see him but it was hard, the other day we went by to see him again and the people told us he had moved, but didnt know where, we were really sad because he is a great person! the next day we were walking down the street and saw him with a friend we stopped and talked and his friend seemed really excited about the church, they say they will go to the church this Sunday, once again they dont know the number of where they live but gave us a description of the house and mas o menos how to get there, lets hope we can find them again!!
And one last thing, wow this letter is REALLY long, but well Im leaving out a lot of stuff too!! We are having a baptism this weekend, Emiliano is a kid 11 years old, he turns 12 in November, and he is absolutely amazing! I want to bring him home with me! I don't know if I've talked much about him before but he lives with his grandma, and his 2 sisters and his aunt, both his parents died when he was little and that is why he lives with his grandma, we were teaching the whole family but he is the only one that has any interest, the others only want instant fixes, his older and younger sister say the worst things ever, and don't like us too much, his older sister is 15, and his aunt is 13, it is a really sad life that he lives because his grandma even though she is a good person, doesn't treat them very well, one time she hit emiliano in front of us and then tried to laugh it off, it was really hard for me to control my temper, she asked if i was mad and I just sad I was really sad about what happened and she started to cry and say she was sad about everything too... she prays for patience and is mad at God for not giving it to her! Lets just say I have a lot of appreciation for mom and what she did when she worked for 7 counties, I could never do that!! Emiliano is such a great kid and is so excited for his baptism, pray for him that he can endure to the end!

Welp that is all I have for now, it is almost the end of the transfer, crazy to think about that! welp I gotta run, hope everyone is well!!

Love ya

Welp this week was full of ups and downs!! We had a baptism planned for a kid named Emiliano for the 13th of June, but then we found out that we have Stake Conference that Sunday so he would have to wait a week to get the Holy Ghost, so we let him decide, do you want to be baptized this week or wait until the 20th, and he said this week! SO we got really excited and called all the members and started getting things all worked out, well, I know to expect trials from Satan in moments right before baptism, but I never in my wildest dreams thought it would come from our very own bishop! Yes the bishop said no he can't be baptized Saturday because Sundays are better because there are soccer games to be watched on Saturday night and nobody will go! Also our old bishop lied and said he had a dinner sat night and couldn't go (and Emiliano wants him to do the baptism) the dinner wasn't Saturday night, it was Sunday night! So a lot of lying and undermining and the baptism didn't happen this week, I talked with our bishop (who is fairly new) and we both talked a bit sternly we both got our point across fairly well, but well we still didn't have the baptism this week, but this Sunday the bishop pulled us into his office and apologized for treating us the way he did and said we can have baptisms on sat if we want, it helps when the mission president and the stake president are like best friends!

When our bishop was trying to make a point that baptisms in this ward are better on Sundays I said well I was talking to the other hermanas and they said the last baptism in this ward was on Sunday and almost nobody went and he said I don't want to compare other baptisms now but in my experience in this ward baptisms are better on Sunday, even though I had just cited a reference where it wasn't, but whatever, I'm a missionary, I cant fight! It's amazing to me, the ward here really doesn't want baptisms, every time we get close to having one they freak out and do everything they can so it doesn't happen, which can be seen in the numbers, in the past year Liniers has had 1 baptism, that is from jun last year until now, but no I would even say in the past year and 9 months, but whatever, that will change now! Because Emilano will be baptized on the 20th and then we have a 3 more baptisms planned for the 27th, Mayra, her best friend Daiana, and another lady named Delia, they are all very excited, now the hard part is making sure they all make it to church these next few weeks, pray for them and pray for us that the ward won't make it too difficult for us!!

Welp that's about it for my week I think! It was a really good week in spite of the weekend. Please I would like to beg everyone out there to support the missionaries, give them references, say hi to their investigators on Sunday, even if you don't speak their language try to say hi, and go to the baptisms on Saturdays, even if it is inconvenient!!

Welp I gotta run, p-day is almost over!! Love y'all,

Hermana Gosnell

Ok these are mostly from my shopping trip, I bought a ton of clothes, but I am really surprised that I didn't spend that much!! The pic of me in the blue and red shirt is my new Tigre shirt, I'm a supporter of Tigre Soccer!! And the last two are of me sewing and my finished project, with all the walking and not sitting here in Liniers my foot got really swollen and it was very painful even with painkillers and ice, so I decided to make a few rice bags so I could put heat on it, and it worked like a charm, no more pain!

OK I'm going to start of with a shout out to Austin for his 12th birthday! And also
to Kate for her birthday (we wont say how much) And for good measure to my mom for her
birthday in week and a half!!

Also thanks so much for all the birthday wishes, they mean so much to me!

Well this last week was a bit different than the others! We had Zone Conference and I was all prepared to talk to my mission president and tell him what it is really like here in Liniers. I was hoping beyond hope that he would tell me of his plans of closing Liniers and so that I would be going to another area this next transfer, well quite the opposite happened! In my interview he started out by asking me what good things are here in Liniers, it took me a little to think about it, and I started talking about random people trying to think of good things, and he said good, I want to tell you something, you are in charge of Liniers. I don't usually talk about transfers but it isn't a secret that your comp will be leaving (she goes home this transfer), and you will be in charge of Liniers, and we see that missionaries stay in an area for 5-6 transfers (1 transfer is 6 weeks). So you are in charge of changing Liniers, and Liniers will change in your time here
and you will be responsible for making that happen! He said it was very obvious to him that I was supposed to be here, he didn't really have plans for bringing me here in Liniers, I was in Nuñez set to spend a lot of time there, but one transfer and I came here to Liniers. He told me that it was blaringly obvious to him that the Lord wants ME here in Liniers, and that he feels like my personality and talents are the things that Liniers needs to change! WOW!!! I felt the whole world on my shoulders after that! It wasn't what I was expecting to hear, but well after that I had no other choice but change my mind about Liniers! Its going to change, It's going to go from the armpit of the mission, to the area that everyone wants to go!! That's my goal anyway!
After conference we had a lesson and we were able to put a baptism date, and we put another baptism goal yesterday, and we are finding and teaching and progressing a lot more! Our vision has changed!! It will be a lot of work, but I have been promised that I will see the fruits of my labors!! I just need to keep working hard, i cant just sit and wait for the miracles to come!!
Welp that is about all I have time for today, we have permission to leave our area today and go shopping, becaue I dont have winter clothes and it is freaking cold here now!! Wish me luck in finding stuff!!

Love y'all
