Wow I just don't even know where to begin with this week! I must say I am one of the luckiest Girls ever, and my Father in Heaven really truly loves me, and all of us! He has blessed me more than I have ever deserved!
So this last week started out like a normal week in Liniers, bad!! OK well not really. Last Wednesday we had a "lesson" with Virginia. She is a single parent, and is raising her 3 grandchildren. Her husband died 13 years ago in a terrible experience, and Virginia almost died as well, but instead found out she was pregnant. Well her oldest daughter, just a few years ago, died in a car accident with her husband leaving her 3 kids with Virginia, So Virginia is raising her 3 grandchildren ages 15, 11, 8 and also her own daughter who is 13. It's really hard for her. I actually don't enjoy being in her house very much because she doesn't have a lot of patience and is always yelling and screaming at her kids. (Mom I think I know how you used to feel when you worked with seven counties.) Well she has a lot of potential, and the gospel could really help change her life, but she always says when I have my life together is when I will go to your church. Well last week we invited her to church and she said no because she has too much to do, so I promised her if she went to church on Sunday that the Lord would bless her and she would have time to get everything done that she needs to get done! I thought she would just laugh, but no, she said wow Hermana well you have convinced me, I will be there with my 4 kids!! And you know what, she actually came to church with her 4 kids!! And she LOVED it!! All the classes were written just for her I think!! We have a lesson with her tonight so I can't wait to see if we can get her to come this week, because Pres Argyle is coming to speak to the ward and he wants to meet her!
Something I have rediscovered this week is a talent I used to have, I've always been pretty good at convincing people to do things I want them to do, sounds like a bad talent no? Well this week I have found that every time I have actually tried to get someone to commit to coming to church or, when we are putting baptism dates and whatever type of commitment I have been able to get them to say yes, even though before they were saying no. I thought I had lost this talent when I had to serve my mission in a different language, but wow I have a powerful talent for speaking! Don't think I am bragging about my own abilities, because I know it is not me that is convincing them, but the Spirit!
So after that experience with Virginia, the rest of the week was bad, we were able to put a baptism date with someone, but I don't really feel good about it! Well the worst day was Monday. We had all our appointments and backup plans fall through, it was 5:00 and we had no plans! I wasn't feeling good because we had stopped by someone's house to go to the bathroom and then she gave us a huge glass of pineapple juice that was the most disgusting thing ever and we had to drink it all and fast because she didn't have much time, so I wasn't feeling to good about being in Liniers! There is no progress or anything, at least that was what I was thinking, I must say I am too much like Laman and Lemuel, that is something I have to fight against my whole life! Like them I have seen so many miracles and blessings and good things from the Lord in my life, but one little thing happens and I seem to forget everything good that has ever happened in my life and can only think about the bad things, I'm not really sure why I'm like that, but Monday I wasn't feeling too good!
Well then Tuesday I was feeling a little bit better because we had a few set appointments and one of them was with Mayra who is really a choice spirit of Heavenly Father! I absolutely love our lessons with her! She had plans to come to church this last Sunday but then she remembered that it is the anniversary of when her father passed away, and they had family plans! But she is really excited about coming to church this Sunday, and she is going to come to a baptism with us this Saturday, and she asked if we could come more often! Now we will be going to teach her Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday! She says she loves it when we come, we put a baptism date with her and she said yes I really want to get baptized in this church, if it is really true it is something I really want! SO she is just waiting for her answer, we put her date for... MAY 30!!! I'm pretty sure that will be the best birthday present ever!! Well after that lesson we were feeling pretty on top of the world! I was feeling so much better than Monday!! Well the rest of the day was pretty normal, we had an appointment with a friend of Virginia, we didn't really get to teach anything, she just told us her whole life story! Then we had to run to another appointment that fell through and then we worked with trying to find less active members and then we had an appointment in the church with an investigator at 7:30 I didn't really think he would come, but we had plans so we went to the church we got there at 7 so I sat playing the piano while we were waiting for him to come. I was trying to think of who we could go visit when Carlos didn't come (I'm such a pessimist, I wish I wasn't). Well at about 7:35 a guy we didn't know walked by, we thought it was Carlos, and Hermana Perez started to talk to him and he said my name is Jorge I want to talk to the missionaries!!!!!!! She asked if he is a member and he said no but he wants to be! So it wasn't the person we were waiting for, but the Lord knew Carlos wouldn't be there, but that we would be, so he sent Jorge!! Jorge almost was baptized on 15 of September last year, but right on the 13th, just 2 days before his mom passed away and it really affected him. He told the missionaries he wouldn't be baptized. Between that time and now he has lost EVERYTHING!! His lost his job, his house and everything he owns! He is now living in the streets sleeping in hospitals, he said I don't know why I'm here but I always feel better in the church, he said he hates that he is coming to church at this time in his life because it looks like he is just looking for handouts, but he says all he wants is to be baptized and serve the Lord in whatever way possible! We went over the baptism interview questions with him and he answered them all perfectly and bore his testimony, which is a beautiful testimony!! And we set a date with him for May 9th!! He is so excited and almost cried when we asked if he would like to be baptized that day! I hope everything works out for him, but wow after that experience with him I truly felt very humbled. Here I was the day before complaining and murmuring about how I didnt want to be in Liniers, and the very next day the Lord gives me 2 big blessings and miracles in the form of Mayra and Jorge. Truly the only way I can explain how I feel is humbled to the very core! The Lord truly loves and blesses his children, even the rebellious ones!!
Oh and a fun little note about my Spanish, my comp tells me that talk porteño, which is to say I talk like someone from Buenos Aires, oh and Jorge said I talk too fast he can't understand me. Haha I guess I need to learn to talk slow in Spanish!!
So that is my week here in Liniers, also we had ward conference and they called a new bishop, who told us first thing that he is thinking of is a ward mission leader for us!! It is still hot here some days, and some days it is cold!! I appreciate all of your prayers, I can really feel them, please pray for Mayra and Jorge that everything will work out and they can make it to their baptisms without any problems!!
Love you all tons, and enjoy Derby for me!!
Love ya,

Perserverar Hasta el Fin (Endure to the End)
Welp that is the 5th principle of the gospel, endure to the end... that's the part I'm at right now, Liniers is still welp, Liniers! We decided to work with members, so Sunday we were running around trying to get appointments with them. I must say I'm quite used to rejections in the street with contacts, but not so much used to rejections with members. In my whole life and my whole mission I've only seen that members love the missionaries. Here it is not so much that way. Several people when we asked if we could stop by said oh no I'm not that interested!! Um yes they are members of the church,. One lady said oh no I go to bed early, and we were like well we can pass by earlier and she said oh no I wake up and go to bed!! If you are going to lie at least be good at it!! So yeah I lost a little bit of faith after church on Sunday.
On Friday we had Zone Conf and my comp was really quiet all day so when we got home I asked if she was OK and she started crying and saying she had cried her whole interview with the president and she had told him how ugly it is to be here in Liniers and how she hates the thought of ending her mission here and all that stuff. He told her that she is the best missionary to be here in Liniers and that she and I need to just remember how great it feels to have success, because she and I have had a lot of success before in our missions and so we need to just remember those times to make it through these hard times!! I asked her why she hadn't talked to me about how she feels before, and she said she didn't want to ruin my happiness here. Haha. I was like do I seem happy here?? But apparently I do. I think its because I don't like to break down in front of people, so I seem happy! I am doing better here though. We have found a few new investigators who seem amazing!! I will talk about one of them, her name is Mayra. She is 20 years old and we found her doing contacts in the street. She was waiting for the bus listening to her mp3 and I didn't think anything of it but my comp went up to her and started talking to her. She actually took out her earphones and listened, but right as she was going to give us her address her bus came and as she was getting on the bus she shouted us her address and said pass by if you would like! And then I realized we didn't know her name so as the bus was driving away I shouted hey whats your name and she shouted it from the door!! It was really crazy!! Well we had our doubts, but the address is real but she was never home, so we decided to pass by Monday morning for the last time, and she was HOME!!!!!! We had a great lesson with her about the Plan of Salvation because her dad passed away when she was 14 and it is really sad for her. She loved it and we have another appointment with her tomorrow! We have had a couple more lessons really good like this one, but as much as I want to see people come to the waters of baptism I also worry about afterward. We have been meeting with inactive members and they all say they never felt welcomed into the ward because the members never were nice and so they never went back. I know that is only an excuse, but everyone has that excuse here. President Argyle is coming to the ward to talk to the members in a couple of weeks, I hope something changes!!
Welp that is my letter for the week, I love you all oh and I need to send a few shout outs: thanks Katie for being the best cousin in the world for the package!! Kate Shields, I loved the letter and will be responding shortly!! Moms easter package is amazing! And I love all the love and support I get from my family!! Happy birthday to Brian and Gracie, Devon, Amber, and Becky, and if I forgot anyone I'm very sorry!!
Love ya!!

Change of Heart
Happy Late Easter, I'm not sure if I wished everyone a happy Easter last week!
Wow Easter sounds like it was a huge hit! 35 people AND an Easter hunt!! And Rachel, yup she is definitely my niece, nice move stealing the Easter eggs!!!! Brian sent me pics of the blessing and everyone looks so great, and wow Amber, you like freaking awesome, there is no way you had a baby just a month and a half ago!! Oh and I'm so proud of Bethany, tell her congrats for me, and Billie and Robbie too!! What a big baby, and I love the name, James! Oh and Congratulations to Paul for being a genius!!
SO yes I'm still in Liniers, and I'm trying to love it, it is a bit hard!! The question mom asked is what is Liniers like, well it isn't like Nuñez with buildings all over the place, it looks more like Tigre, but more poor and less green! The apartment is actually really nice and big, we have an upstairs and is like the roof of our house, I'll have to take pictures sometime, the only problem is we have a ton of cockroaches, but I pray for strength to deal with them every night!! Liniers hasn't had a baptism since November, and all the recent baptisms (like within the past 2 years) have all gone inactive! The ward doesn't have a ward mission leader, or ward missionaries, or even someone to teach the principles of the gospel class, it seems like the missionary part of this ward is completely nonexistent, we talked to the bishop about getting a ward mission leader and he doesn't feel like there is anyone that could do it! So we are all on our own! And let me tell you, missionary work is almost impossible to do without the help and support of members! All of our investigators are people that have been investigators for years and have never been to church, and the people aren't very receptive here! Needless to say its a challenge!!
But I came to a realization yesterday, things aren't going to get better by complaining!!! SO I need to change the way I feel and think!! In other words and I need a change of heart! SO I started studying that yesterday and I'm feeling a little bit better about being here, and today I started telling myself hey its a great blessing to be here in Liniers, it means the Lord trusts me enough to work hard and change the way things are, I think if I keep telling myself that I will start to believe it!! If anyone has good ideas of how to have an effective change of heart, I would love to hear it!
Some experiences of the week, we taught someone that is so closed to hearing the truth than I've ever met!! It was the most frustrating lesson I have ever taught, we tried to get her to read the Book of Mormon and she kept saying where is that written in the Bible, and wouldn't even touch the book!! We read from it but she would even try to listen! I invited her to pray about whether it is true or not, because I said our message is either true or it isn't, and we can't convince, the only person who can is God, so pray to him, and then Hna Perez invited her to pray right then and there, so we knelt down to pray, I've never prayed so hard in my life that the spirit would touch her heart, well she started to pray... it was a disaster! She is very active in her church (evangelista) and they have the gift of tongues and all that other great stuff, well she started to pray and cry and shout and she was sobbing and shouting her whole prayer and it was so long, the Spirit left the second she started praying and I felt hopeless!! And then she didn't even pray to know if the church is true! So yeah that was fun!
Sunday we were in church and someone came and told us that a man was looking for us, we went out to see him and he said I feel a need to find God, so I came here, can you help me!!!!!!!!! He was traveling so only had like 5 min to talk to us, so we gave him a folleto (pamphlet) and made an appointment with him, I really hope things turn out well with him!!
My comp is great, I think if I were to compare her to anyone I would say she is like Hermione from Harry Potter, only more high strung! She has a few quirks (like eating with her mouth open), but nobody is perfect!! Also I think I will say chau to attending all of church, because she says if we get there and we don't have investigators we don't come back until we have someone... which is good diligence, but I really enjoy going to church as well!! But I really enjoy being with her, she is really a great companion and we get along great, and she has such a strong testimony of the church, we have hopes to see mucho exito (much success) here in Liniers!!
Well I think I better run, if I have time I will send a pic with me and my comp, I made a DVD of all my pics of my mission a few weeks ago, I hope to send it soon!! Oh and my comp says hi to everyone!
Love you all,
Hermana Gosnell

Six weeks in Nuñez!!!
Um yeah, so it is time for transfers, but logically nothing should happen, I just barely got to Nuñez 6 weeks ago, if anyone needed to leave it was Hermana Guerra, but well here I find myself in another part of Argentina!! Again I had to pack all my stuff in one quick night, I didn't say goodbye to anyone because I didn't know anything until last night at 9:30 and I left for my new area this morning! I don't have anything to remind me of Nuñez!! I'm actually really sad, I cried last night, and I couldn't sleep at all, so I'm really tired, it just seems so sad to me because I was with a comp that didn't like me for 3 transfers, and I was finally with someone I had fun with, and that lasted one transfer! My one baptism in Nuñez doesn't count because she will be confirmed this Sunday and I won't be there for it!! The last zone conf our president told us that we should only expect changes in area 2 or 3 times in the mission (for hermanas) so I thought I would be in Nuñez for a good time, but no! I'm actually not that sad to leave Nuñez, just my comp, but don't get me wrong my new comp seems great, she is very obedient, one of President Argyle's favorite missionaries. She is from Uruguay, she is 27 years old, and very nice, she said she always wanted to be my comp because she trained Hna Collinwood (we were in the MTC together) and Hna Collinwood talked about how I was really nice, and I had met Hna Perez (my new comp) a few times before and she said I always seemed like a really good missionary! So here we are together in Liniers, she goes home in June so I will most likely be her last comp, which means I will be here in Liniers for a good long time, Liniers the zone has the most baptisms in the whole mission, my area......... nada! The apartment, is huge, its like a house compared to my other two apts, but... it has a million cockroaches!! I'm trying to get excited about serving here, but it is hard... have any words of encouragement????? Sorry this part is so depressing, but yeah, that is how I feel today! So last week I decided to start a diet, I had gained 5 lbs in Nuñez because my comp always wanted to eat ice cream and stuff like that, when I weighed myself I said no I cant do that anymore, well we are at a members house eating and they gave us ice cream for dessert, I had one helping and the hermana said do you want more? and my comp said oh yeah my comp wants more, we almost died laughing, it was pretty funny because we had made a bet that I wouldn't eat ice cream anymore after that, but I lost because I can't say no to members, its against the rules!! I had other stories to tell, but now I can't remember.
I loved Conference, I hope you all did as well!! Saturday I watched Conf in Spanish, it was quite the experience. Some of the speakers record their talks in Spanish before and so we get to hear them speak, like Elder Scott does that!! Did you know his children are adopted? I've been meaning to write that for a while! But then I found out they broadcast Conf in English in the institute building, so I found an hermana that speaks English and I went and watched it in English on Sunday, it was so much fun!! I loved it, especially the talk from Elder Perry. Everyone should review it and put it to practice!! Well really that is all I can think of, Zone Conf is next week, I think, so hopefully Mom's package has arrived! Pray for me to be able to deal with the cockroaches!! Oh yeah so fall has started here, last week it was soooooo cold, OK actually i think it was like in the 60s but now for me that is really cold, I was all bundled up in a coat and all those things, I loved it, I love the cold weather! But I don't know what happened, it is like 30 degrees outside now (in Celsius - 86°F) and so we are dying of heat! But that brief spell of cold weather reminded me that I don't have any winter clothes and winter is coming here soon!! SO if anyone wants to donate to my winter clothes fund, I'm going to start buying sweaters and gloves and scarfs and all those fun things!!
Welp that is all I have for now I think, thanks for all your love and support, and hopefully I will be able to have a better week!! I need all your prayers now more than ever!!
Love ya,

¡¡¡Hay baptisms in Nùñez!!!
So I was expecting all kinds of April Fool's day jokes today, I'm surprised I didn't get a single one!! But I have good news, Katie the coolest person in the world turned in her mission papers this week!! Pray for her because now Satan will be working EXTRA hard to get her not to go on her mission, because he doesn't want such a strong faithful person like Katie out in the field!!
OK so we had a baptism this Sunday!! The girl that was baptized is Alicia, she is 12 years old (just turned 12) So something I just realized is she is about the same age as Austin, wow so weird!! Her family are all members but inactive, but her mom has such a testimony and is now going to church every week! They have a lot of trials in their lives and she could be blaming it all on God, but you know what she talks about how she knows everything happens for a reason and that God will help her, she is such an inspiration! Alicia could have gotten baptized with her sister when she was 8 years old, but she is scared of water and so she was really nervous for her baptism, but she had faith to do it (and I gave her a little hard candy before to calm her nerves, she said it really helped!) I just love her, she is truly an amazing kid! The baptism was a bit hard, because we had an investigator there that has a daughter who has severe autism, and something else, and all the members are very rude about it and tell the mom that her daughter is uncontrollable. Well Sara escaped the room where the baptism was and nobody helped so I actually wasn't present for the baptism, because my comp and I were running around with Sara, it is really hard because as missionaries we aren't allowed to hold or do anything with children, I will admit I wasn't very happy about missing the baptism, but at least Renee was able to be present for the baptism!
I actually don't know what to write about this week, I have time, but I can't really think of things that happened, so I will tell a few random stories, so a few weeks ago my comp and I were walking home really fast and well we all know I can't walk very good. I don't know what happened but all of a sudden I was on the ground, but the funniest thing happened, my comp fell too!! I think my bag hit her foot or something but we both fell flat on our faces, we sat there for a second looked around and por suerte (luckily) there was no one around, so nobody saw us biff it!! Now every time we pass that spot we laugh so hard. We laughed that whole night!! Then another random story, so we had a plumbing problem in our appt that was effecting our neighbors downstairs, so we had to stay in the apartment one whole Monday morning while a plumber was fixing everything in our bathroom, and I swear he would work for like 10 min and then stop and come out and talk to us, but we were studying and stuff, so he would leave and come back, and then I noticed that he was smoking in our bathroom, like all the time!! All my stuff smelled like smoke, so my comp went to talk to him and asked him to stop smoking and he was like oh but can't you just close the bathroom door and take our your towels and let me smoke!! and she was like well it isn't your house and we don't smoke in here and stuff like that, and he was like but if i can't smoke I will have to leave to go outside all the time, and we were like well you can't smoke in here. I couldn't believe how hard it was to ask someone not to smoke in our own apartment! Another random story, I fell again yesterday, but I wasn't so fortunate this time. It was in front of a ton of people and I skinned my knee, but I laughed pretty hard, such is my life!! I had another story I wanted to tell but I cant remember it now!
So that is my letter for this week, I hope you all enjoyed it! I was thinking this week about my life before my mission, not in a trunky way but just in a reflective way and wow my life was so different! I didn't realize all the changes I had made in the past 7 months! Its hard to imagine the life I have in the states, and it is sad to me to know that when I get home I will probably fit right back into in no time, but I hope that I will never forget all the things Ive learned here, and that I wont lose all the good virtues I am learning here on the mission... like patience. I'm not perfectly patient now by any means, but I definitely am a lot more patient then anyone would ever believe!! Well that is a bit random, but hey so is my life!!
I gotta run, I will try to attach a few pics but this comp is the slowest thing I've ever seen!! Love you all and keep me updated on everything!! The church is true and enjoy conference in English for me!!
